A good vintage.
2019 has been a great year for us, summarised by continued growth, expansion into new markets and some much welcomed acknowledgements.
Just in case you missed anything we've prepared a summary of our best bits below.
Awards.
With nominations in five different awards, we snatched 3 wins for our CGI and Interactive projects. We were delighted and overwhelmed to win the coveted CGarchitect interactive 3D award at D2 as well as a gold and silver award for two more interactive projects in the 2019 w3 awards.
New website.
We finally, finally, finally did it! 6 months in the making, we rethought and rebuilt our site from the ground up, incorporating much needed brand updates along with a shed load of amazing projects.
CG community.
To stay at the top of our game and keep up to speed on trends, emerging tech and gossip we ventured out this year to 2 of the CG industry conferences in Vienna and Venice. Each is 3 days of workshops, talks and networking, with a little beer thrown in to keep everyone happy.
Fresh faces.
As we continue to grow our size and expertise we added 4 new people to the team. Dan and Alex in the CG department, Leanne in the design team and Ethan joining the retouching team.
Business news.
2019 saw some big announcements, from celebrating the success of our business venture in the USA to announcing a major new partnership with Swoon Editions.
We also shared an article explaining how new web based 3D technology is set to change the online retail experience.
Innovation.
Our interactive department produced some superb tools this year, most notably the Vita student interactive tour, Masterbrand Virtual tour , Zephyr AR app and a couple of really cool LAB projects that bring exciting things ahead.
Team trips.
Happy bees make sweet honey so we place a lot of value on getting out of the office regularly and spending quality time together. No year would be complete at Pikcells without mentioning our team trips away.
Bonding was taken to new heights this year with our bushcraft trip to the Yorkshire Dales, time by the sea at Whitby, larging it at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and finishing off with a countryside hike in Malham.

High standards.
"You're only as good as your last image" say us, and we are feeling very proud of the work created this year as shown in our summer reel above. We feel like we continue to get better, improving both the standard and range of solutions we can offer to our clients.
